Mojave Audio
Introduction
Mojave Audio is not a new company. It is one of the truly great microphone developers in the world of professional music recording. The founder of the company is one of the greatest engineering minds in the field of professional audio engineering— David Royer. Most of us who have spent some time in the world of professional music production know of his brilliant microphone designs that led to the development of some of the greatest ribbon microphone technologies of the past fifty years and to the creation of Royer Labs. However, David Royer also designs amazing condenser and dynamic microphones as well, and it is these microphones which are produced by Mojave Audio.
Which products from Mojave Audio that were used by the great engineers and recording studio facilities of the past would be a great fit for the educational space?
The microphones produced by Mojave Audio have received critical praise and acclaim and are some of the finest in the world of professional music recording. Their tube condenser microphone models rival and in some cases actually sound better than the vintage classic microphones which have been used to record so many of the great hit songs in popular music from the end of the Second World War to the present. However, the company also makes great condenser models and a wonderful dynamic microphone model, as well. The microphone models made by Mojave Audio would each be an excellent fit for the educational space.

Mojave MA-37
The Mojave MA-37 is a modern take of a classic tube microphone from the past— the Sony C-37a. This classic microphone was used to record some of the greatest hits of the 1960s-- the Golden Age of Popular Music. The Mojave MA-37 sounds beautiful on a wide variety of sources including: drum overheads, piano, stringed instruments and vocals. In other words, this beautiful microphone both sounds fantastic and is extremely versatile. It would make an excellent choice for an educational institution.
Mojave MA-1000DS
This beautiful microphone is a work of art— not just in how it sounds (much like the classic tube microphones of the past, but better) but in the rugged beauty of its capsule, as well. Much like its sibling the MA-37, the MA-1000DS is also a tube condenser microphone which offers multiple polar patterns for recording sources. The MA-1000DS sounds great on a variety of sources such as vocals, drum overheads, stringed instruments and piano. It would also make an excellent room microphone for capturing thunderous drum kits on the one hand, but it would also be a great choice for both choral and stringed ensembles, as well. It would be an excellent choice for an educational institution.

It is a rugged microphone that would be a great teaching tool for an educational space.
Mojave MA-D
The Mojave MA-D is an extremely versatile microphone. It is a rugged dynamic microphone that can be used to great effect on a wide variety of sources such as vocals, drums, brass instruments and electric and bass guitar amps. This microphone would also excel in a wide variety of applications— music recording, live sound (public address announcements), podcasting and even multimedia content creation (as a voice-over microphone).
