Introduction
In the world of professional music recording, there are some new companies out there that are producing amazing new products that sound like the great pieces of equipment that we would have used in the past. Kali Audio may be a relatively new company on the scene, but their monitor systems have quickly been adopted by some of the very best artists, engineers, musicians and producers in the business. The company makes products that are also very competitively priced and that are easy to set-up and use with any existing system.
Which products from Kali Audio that were used by the great engineers and recording studio facilities of the past would be a great fit for the educational space?
Kali Audio makes two different systems, or monitoring line-ups— the Lone Pine series and the Independent series. These two differing sets of monitor speakers can be found being sold as either a single unit or as a speaker pair. The company offers a fabulous subwoofer that can be placed with any of their systems and also a sweet set of multimedia speakers, too, for those who are into podcasting or doing multimedia work at home or on the go. Kali Audio is also one of the few companies to offer a new immersive monitoring system that incorporates speakers from their Independent series. Kali Audio— IN-5
The Kali Audio IN-5 is actually a three-way monitor speaker which means that compared to other monitors in the same class— the woofer and tweeter have to do less work to give you a transparent image of what you are listening to. It is the smaller of the two speakers in the Independent series of monitors from Kali Audio. It is a powered speaker and can be purchased as either a single speaker or as a pair. Another component that makes these monitors special is that their frequency response is extremely broad, which means that you are able to hear more without having to invest in a subwoofer.
Kali Audio— IN-8
The Kali Audio IN-8 is actually the larger sibling of the IN-5 and also, of course, sports the same three-way design. And just like its smaller sibling, it, too, is a powered speaker which will not require the use of an amplification system. The IN-8 also has an extremely broad frequency response and like its sibling, is a great choice for near-field monitoring duties. The IN-8 is a bit larger due to the size of its cabinet and components, but it is also an excellent choice for the educational space.
Kali Audio— LP-6
The LP-6 is the smaller of the two offerings in the Lone Pine series of monitors from Kali Audio. The Lone Pine series are more traditional monitor speakers in that these speakers are two-way monitors— but, do not let this fool you, these monitors are also extremely accurate and very transparent, just like their cousins in the Independent series. These speakers can also be purchased as either a single speaker or as a pair. The LP-6 is the smaller of the two offerings in the Lone Pine series from Kali Audio.
Kali Audio— LP-8
The Kali Audio LP-8 is the larger of the two offerings from Kali Audio in the Lone Pine series. It is also a two-way powered speaker and like its smaller sibling the LP-6 will not require the use of a powered amplification system. The LP-8 is also an extremely accurate and transparent monitor speaker. Either of the two offerings from Kali Audio in the Lone Pine series would be excellent additions to the educational space.
Kali Audio— WS-12
If your room calls for the need for a subwoofer, Kali Audio offers the powerful WS-12, which is a powered subwoofer system. It is both easy to use and also easy to set-up, too. The small footprint of the WS-12 means that compared to other subwoofers in its class, it can also be portable. It can be used with any of the speakers in the Kali Audio line-up and would make a great addition for an educational space.
Kali Audio— Immersive Monitoring System
Though it is relatively new, the Kali Audio Immersive Monitoring System has already had both legendary engineers and recording studio facilities install them into their Dolby Atmos rooms. Though retailers offer different packages with differing configurations, the team at Kali Audio and or your studio designer can tailor a system for your specific needs— i.e. every room in which these systems will be installed are very different from one another and with different size and acoustical considerations, different speaker configurations will have to be installed that are tailored for each. Kali Audio makes each of the components that compose their amazing immersive systems.
Kali Audio— IN-UNF
Kali Audio also makes the IN-UNF system which is an ultra-nearfield monitoring system that is great for students who may be working on a podcast or who are doing edits in a digital audio workstation software program in a space with a small physical footprint. This small system consists of a bass unit and two satellite monitor speakers. It easy to use, plus, it is also extremely versatile— offering a wide variety of connections for multimedia users and podcasters.
