Hear Technologies
Introduction
One of the most important components of any recording studio facility is the cue system. The cue system allows the musicians and the artist, producers and engineers to be able to communicate with one another via headphones in real time as they work together to make great music. In the beginning, cue systems only offered a stereo feed of the mix in the control room. By the mid-1980s, cue systems expanded to become small eight-channel mixers. In today’s music recording world, cue systems have become much more sophisticated and one company which produces one of the best systems available on the market today is Hear Technologies.
Which products from Hear Technologies that were used by the great engineers and recording studio facilities of the past would be a great fit for the educational space?
Hear Technologies offers two of the best systems available for recording studio facilities today— the Hearback Pro and the Hearback Octo systems. The company also makes a multifunction cue system device, the Switch Back M8RX, which can not only function as a cue device but also as an interface, too. The two cue systems offer incredible versatility and connectivity, as both systems offer multiple mixer systems that can be interconnected with one another. Each system from Hear Technologies would be excellent for the educational space.

Hearback Pro
It is the most advanced cue system on the market today and offers an unparalleled level of flexibility. The system consists of two elements— a hub where tracks are sent and distributed and the mixers that the musicians and artist use to listen to themselves and their fellow session musicians who are playing on the session. The hub in this system can handle up to 32 mixers, while each mixer can handle up to 16 channels (even in stereo) of audio. It is an incredibly powerful system and an excellent one for an educational space.

Hearback Octo
The Hearback Octo is a smaller version of the Hearback Pro, but it is also an incredibly powerful and flexible system in its own right. It also consists of a very flexible hub and a series of mixers which offer eight channels, just as the traditional cue systems of the past once did in the recording studio facilities of the 1980s and 1990s. However, though the mixers also have a smaller footprint than their siblings, they still possess a variety of connections for artists and musicians to be able to use. Just like its larger sibling, it is an incredibly powerful system and an excellent one for an educational space.

Switch Back M8RX
This device is really a mini recording studio in a small, but simple to use package for musicians and artists who want to record their work and monitor the process wherever they may be located. It can be located anywhere— hanging on a mic stand in a studio or attached to the belt of a musician or an artist. The Switch Back has a pair of microphone preamps, four Dante-based inputs and the same headphone amplifier as its larger sibling systems. It can also be connected to a computer system. It would be a great choice for an educational space.
Why should an educational institution invest in products from Hear Technologies?
A cue system is essential for a recording studio to be able to function, so that the communication between the musicians, the artist, the producer and the engineers is seamless. Hear Technologies creates the perfect systems to realize this essential element for the successful functioning of a recording studio space. Either of their systems would be an excellent asset for a recording space in an educational institution. The Switch Back M8RX would be a great asset for a space with a small footprint in an educational institution.
